Stephanie Anne Smith is one of those teachers that can make you laugh and you can always have a good time with.  Miss Smith doesn’t just work at this school because she has to, she comes because she looks forward to seeing all her students who make her laugh. Tay-Lynne and I asked Miss Smith if she remembered what it was like when she was in Junior High.  She answered with some giggles, “It was an awkward time for me, I was trying to find my place and it wasn’t an enjoyable time.”  We also asked if she was in any certain group and she answered, “Oh I was so not popular, I was one of those no name kids. I didn’t really fit into any groups.”  That is why she wanted to become a teacher; she wants to try to make Junior High fun, not the way hers was.

Miss Smith has a younger-bigger brother.  She calls him this because he is younger but VERY tall.  He lives in Kansas and is a baseball player.  She remembers her first date as an awkward time.  She was going to the movies and her date’s mom and dad both drove them.

Her favorite super hero is Catwoman, but not the Halle Berry one. If Miss Smith won a million dollars she would travel to Egypt, Africa, Europe and many more places. She would also buy a big house. (She jokes and says “because I live in a little two bedroom apartment!”)  She would still teach though!  Then she decided that she would be nice to her family and buy them something nice.  Tay-Lynne jokes, “The leftovers?” Miss Smith agrees!

We heard that she had a major shoe collection.  We asked her about that and she says, “Let me explain. My dad is a part owner for a shoe store, so I get the daughter discount!”  We then asked if she had a favorite pair of shoes. She answers with a smile, “This is the first time I’m wearing these ones!” as she points to her shoes. She then answers my favorite pair of shoes are my knee high, black, flat heel boots.

We then asked her if she ever had an embarrassing moment in the classroom, she replied quickly with, “Oh, lots!”  For instance, one day she was standing in front of her class beside the overhead projector and somehow the cord got wrapped around her legs. She then tried to take a step forward not noticing that the cord was around her, although she didn’t fall flat on her face, she came close, and the projector teetered precariously for a few very long seconds.

Obviously an entertaining teacher, Miss Smith offers her students many things in the classroom, including knowledge, giggles, and sound foot fashion advice.
