Mrs. Serpico has been a counselor at our school for 8 or 9 years. She loves working here and being with the kids.  Along with counseling, she loves to teach.  This year, she counsels and teaches a Grade 9 Health class.  Her kind personality makes her an easy teacher to learn from or confide in.

When she’s not busy helping us solve our problems at school, Mrs. Serpico goes home to her husband of 12 years and her 2 children.  She has a daughter, Alexandria, who is 11, and a son, Nico, who is 9.

Now, Mrs. Serpico is really good at finding out what makes us tick, so I thought I would turn the tables on her.  I asked her what animal she would want to be, she said a dolphin or a horse because she admires their freedom and the speed they travel, also because a lot of people like them.  Hmmm, this says a lot about her inner identity!

If she wasn’t a counselor she would want to be an interior decorator, fortunately for us, she loves counseling too much.  Her favorite place to travel is Italy, she hasn’t seen much of Europe but would love to see more of it. She is going back to Italy in the summer of 2009 for another wedding where she plans on spending most of her time in Venice, Milan and Tuscany, she can’t wait!

Her favorite time of the year is Christmas. She loves to decorate her house and buy gifts for other people, as well as all of the family get-togethers that go along with it.  Mrs. Serpico also feels that Christmas is her favorite time of the year because this is some of the best quality time she gets with her family.
