Have you ever wondered what Mrs. Lefebvre was before she was your teacher?
Well Tamara and I sat down with her to find out this answer and more.  We met up with her in her room, got settled and got down to business. “We found out that your first job was as a playground supervisor. Did you enjoy it?” It did not take her long to give us an answer.

“Yes, I did enjoy it. I liked the sports part of the job, but I struggled with the arts and crafts part.” We grinned and asked our next question.

“We found out that you enjoy running. Do you have any special tricks that keep you going while you run?” Again, it didn’t take much for her to answer.

“Yes, I do actually. I use the Gratitude Alphabet.” We looked puzzled, and we asked her just what that was. “The Gratitude Alphabet is when you go through the alphabet and for each letter, think of something or someone I am grateful or thankful for in my life. It almost always ends up being people and not things. For example, I would be grateful for someone over money.” We nodded and thought it was a pretty neat idea to keep moving. We continued on the subject of running, knowing it was something Mrs. Lefebvre liked to do.

“So what is the longest running race you have been in?” She smiled warmly and answered.

“The longest race I have ever been in is 10 kilometers. I don’t really run many races over 10km.” This answer led us right into our next question.

“What is your fastest time in a race?” She replied quickly.

“52 minutes was my fastest time, in a 10 km run.”  We then moved on to our next question.

“So tell us who your favorite author is, and why?” Mrs. Lefebvre thought about it for a moment before responding.

My favorite author is Elizabeth George. She is my favorite author because her books are mysteries set in England, with continuous characters, great plots and good character development.” Once again, our question led us into our next question and answer.

“What do you look for when choosing a book?” She paused momentarily while thinking about her answer.

“I like books with twists in the plot, good characterization, and books that make you think about life.” We nodded in agreement and continued with our final two questions.

“So what are some of your favorite memories from the Eastern Canada trip?” This question took her a little bit of time to answer. We knew she probably had a million good memories.

“My favorite memories from the trip are, seeing the kids’ faces when they see Quebec City for the first time. I love Quebec City. The other great memories are seeing Niagara Falls and of course the train ride.” We all smiled and shared a short conversation about the trip, saying that we had plans to go.

We had finally come to our final question. “If you could speak any language in the world, what would it be and why?” She replied quickly, not needing a lot of time to answer. It looked like she had this answer well thought out.

“If I could speak any language, I would speak Dutch. My dad was Dutch and I would like to be able to talk with relatives without a translator.”

After the interview, we collected our things and just chatted for a moment. Mrs. Lefebvre is a pretty neat person when you get to know her. She is definitely a fun person to be around, and a great teacher. If you ever need to see someone give you a smile, always look for Mrs. Lefebvre; she always seems to be smiling!
