The next question was a fun one. “What is the funniest time you’ve had with your kids?” She said, “We love to go up to our playroom and turn on the Tickle Me Elmo Extreme. It freaks Amorin out a little and makes Hunter go nuts trying to compete with it. Anyone who has seen the toy will understand just how funny it is to watch.”
The next question had to do with Mrs. Ericksteen’s favorite vacation spot. She explained how she would like to go “Somewhere sunny, warm and away from tourists!”
I followed up with a question I had no idea would be so controversial. I asked Mrs. Ericksteen about her Honeymoon. I asked, “Where did you go on your honeymoon and how did you guys catch up on your marking?”
Mrs. Ericksteen replied with a laugh,” we went no where! Hmmm do people still take honeymoons? I bet a honeymoon would be really nice, heh?” she continued explaining, “So we had no trouble finishing our marking because WE DIDN’T GO ANYWHERE!” Maybe Mr. Ericksteen should take a look at the question concerning her ideal vacation spot?!
I moved on to safer territory when I asked, “What is your all time favorite thing to do?”
She replied back with, “Playing with my kids, because I love them, and can’t get enough of them. Except when they haven’t had their naps… then I let Mr. Ericksteen have some quality time with them J.” We started laughing as I moved on to the next question.
What is your all time favorite movie to watch as a family? “The 80’s Transformers movie, but really any movie you’ve seen 50 times gets old… Transformers is simply still tolerable” She remarked.
Last, but not least, I asked if they had any special routines or traditions as a family. Mrs. Ericksteen laughed and told me how Hunter need’s stories, a kiss, a hug, a “goodnight”, an “I love you”, a “sweet dreams”, a “see you in the morning”, and a kiss blown to him before he’ll go to bed! Thankfully, Amorin, the youngest, only needs her soft pink blanket and a soother. Other than that, she told me they were just starting to create some of their own family traditions. She’s especially looking forward to their new Holiday tradition where they are going to build gingerbread houses and decorate for Christmas after Hunter’s birthday in November… and ya, she knows it’s pretty early for Christmas decorations… she just loves the idea of enjoying them for a whole month before having to pack them all up again.
Now that you know her family and kids, when you go to talk to her you have a little more understanding about why it takes so long to get her marking done! |
