SYNTHESIS

Synthesizing Group Presentations

Prepare to view the presentations of the other groups by creating a chart with the names of the regions recorded in the margin of your page and two columns titled Similarities and Differences at the top of the page. Draw a line down the center of the page to separate the two categories.

As you watch the presentations record the features related to each of the regions that are the same in the Similarities column and the features that are different in the Differences column. Use the information on your chart to write a generalization for each of the following using specific evidence from your chart for support:

1. Major physical features of Canada and the United States

2. Major economic regions of Canada and the United States

3. Similarities between Canada and the United States

4. Differences between Canada and the United States

5. Relationship between physical environment and way of life

6. Ability of regions in North America to exist independently of other regions.

Submit your chart and generalizations to the teacher. Be prepared to share your ideas when called upon.
