LANDSCAPE IS EVERYTHING

Our geographical landscape both shapes and is shaped by humans. As humans we are very much influenced by the geographical and environmental features that surround us. Because of our proximity to the mountains and our cold winters many of us spend our leisure time snowboarding and skiing. Our vast prairies and oil reserves provide for economic opportunities in the areas of agriculture and the petroleum industry.

In other places humans have modified the natural landscape with their sprawling cities and factories leading to polluted waterways and declining wildlife habitats. As budding young geographers your task is to understand the importance of environmental and geographical factors and what benefits and harms them.
