As thirteen-year-old Laney McIntyre is exploring in a nearby park, she accidentally comes across native artifacts, buried in the bogland. The artifacts include two rather terrifying Iroquois masks. In time, not only does the power and the evil of these false-face masks become apparent, but the effort to properly control them becomes essential. This novel, written by W. W. Katz and winner of The International Children's Fiction Contest in 1987, is steeped in native mythology and connects the reader with the native world of spirituality, myth and legend. |
