Get Fit the Right Way
Jessica S. & Irina L. - 9 Journalism
Every girl and a handful of guys are constantly worrying about their physical appearance. They look in the mirror and complain to their friends about their stomach fat, “thunder thighs” and whatever they can think of, and what do they do to get rid of it? They either do nothing or cut food out completely. Neither of these do any good for anyone.
There may be a few people who are over weight, but when you want to go on a diet there are things you need to consider. One of the main, most ignored things is your body type. Is your mom heavier? Is your dad heavier? Sometimes there are things about yourself, that genetics gave you whether you like it or not. Also, your age and height play an important role when it comes to wanting to lose weight. If you are really interested in losing weight or body fat in any way when measuring yourself don’t only use a scale but a measuring tape too, because a lot of people don’t realize this but muscles weigh more than fat.
One of the many things teen girls especially don’t realize is their body is changing. When you are reaching your teen years girls’ bodies change and form differently. Curves around your hips and stomach are one of the many changes you will face. Do not think you are getting fat!
If you are one of the few over weight people cutting out all aspects of food is not the way to go. Before immediately trying to get all the bad out of your diet at once, (which by the way is next to impossible,) talk to your doctor or at least a parent to figure out what sort of things in your diet should change. Making your own decision on what you should take out may lead to you taking out all the nutrients you need.
